Xinova is seeking five innovators to curate the intellectual property portfolio of a global telecommunications partner to identify game-changing product concepts for spin-out or product develop. Xinova’s challenge to our network is to flag new opportunities from this partner’s existing technology portfolio, to help them diffuse their technology beyond their core business focus areas.
Proposed product concepts should meet the following criteria:
- Uses the partner’s unique technology and/or know-how
- The core technology is fundamental enough to be the driver and/or catalyst to a new product creation (it is “cornerstone” to the effort)
- Multiple products will be created from the IP and in multiple market segments outside the partner’s current market focus
- A product can be brought to market within a 3-5 year period of time The ultimate goal of this exercise is to seed startups or partnerships dedicated to commercializing technologies. While product ideas must draw on the partner’s core underlying technology as represented in its IP portfolio, concepts will not need to be specifically covered by any claims in these patents, and need not be “novel” in an invention or patent sense. The partner’s core technology can be combined with technology from any other source in order to create a new product idea and/or business opportunity as long as the market-differentiating advancement relies on the partner’s technological capabilities. Again, the goal of this program is not to invent, but to identify untapped market opportunities for the partner’s existing capabilities.
