Help reduce food waste!
All yogurt-lovers know the frustration of trying to get every last drop of yogurt from its container. Viscous foods like yogurt have a habit of sticking to the inner surface of their package, resulting in as high as 15% wasted food from every container [1]. To address this, manufacturers have explored the use of “slippery” coatings that can be applied to the package’s inner surface to prevent food from sticking. However, many existing solutions face food safety concerns, regulatory concerns, or cannot be applied to all types of packaging. This is especially challenging for aseptic paperboard packages, where coatings must be applicable via extrusion.
Opportunity Details
Xinova seeks innovators to participate in an 8-week virtual Rapid Innovation Session, where you will identify anti-stick solutions that can be applied to the inner surface of aseptic, paperboard packaging for yogurt. Three (3) selected participants will work as a team, led by a facilitator, to identify novel solutions that meet the client’s technical requirements.
