Xinova applauds our partners at Innit in Silicon Valley for launching an outstanding app worthy of their truly innovative Connected Food Platform. Food Network star—and Innit Chief Content and Innovation Officer – Tyler Florence has said this app will move cooking past recipes in as fundamental of a way, as GPS advanced navigation past paper maps.
The Innit cooking app’s algorithms crunch users’ food allergies, dietary preferences, cooking ability, and time limits to help anyone pull off a great meal using the groceries and cooking tools available to them. To provide such a uniquely individualized digital cooking experience—one that makes cooking fun and easy for all palettes and even sensitive tummies– Innit is offering novice-to-expert video paths based on thousands of videos comprising their novel “micro-cooking content.” Once the desired elements to the meal have been selected, the algorithm compiles it into a step-by-step customized video that takes you on the journey from, say, chicken or pork taco to flour or corn tortilla.
Innit COO, Josh Siegel has said their Connected Food Platform “integrates the disjointed aspects of the food ritual.” Instead of latching onto kitchen gadgets as the top aspect of cooking, Innit is focusing on what people want to eat, and in a way, they can actually prepare it themselves. Tyler Florence says “recipes are dead. Everyone who’s working on recipes now—you’re wasting your time,” he says. “Inflexible recipes don’t work with the modern lifestyle anymore. They need to be re-translated to fit how real people actually cook and use technology.”
Innit promises to make kitchens smarter. Indeed, they have an exciting partnership and technology roadmap scheduled for the next year.
Download the app and experience the delicious future of cooking. In so doing, you’ll see how the Innit app is a great reminder of the power of the Xinova network, showcasing how the Xinova innovation process helped produce real technology that is smart and accessible everyone, everywhere.
This past year has been a great journey between Xinova and Innit – we formed a partnership called ‘Xinnit’. Together we set up an IP Strategy, collaborated on several joint development projects and have developed RFIs to advance Innit’s technology and services, including the connected oven calibration RFI. We’re pleased to say that we are Xinnit together for the long haul: there will be more collaborations to come in 2018!
