Deciding to invent independently was a risk, but I do it because I’ve always wanted to do it. I’ve persisted with this Xinova opportunity because I quite enjoy it… I like the independence of working for myself, and the Xinova work can fill in the gaps of my consultancy work.”
– Quentin Adam, Xinova Innovator
You might have seen the news about Xinova’s new joint venture, Arcnet. I’m pretty proud of this personally, but I hope the promise of a bold new capital market for innovation co-investment excites you too as you’re one of the primary constituents who will benefit. We’ve talked about Xinova’s market network consisting of technology, talent, capital, and demand; Arcnet is one of several initiatives that helps resolve the challenges of accessing capital for innovation. We’ve launched it with a few of Xinova’s innovation projects accessible to investors and perhaps yours will be next. Stay tuned for information on how to participate!
February is traditionally all about love, and I’ve given and received an unusual amount of heart emojis since the birth of my daughter last weekend. Combined with the Arcnet announcement, it’s been quite a ride this month as a proud poppa, proud co-founder, and proud Xinovian. I don’t want to gloss over that last source of pride: Xinova was awarded one of the Best Places to Work by Built in Seattle, and reaching this point required leading a systemic change that I likened to a coup against our previous culture. Also, Forrester Research featured Xinova—and Arcnet–in a piece extolling the virtues of market networks and the future of co-investment in innovation.
Anyhow, back to love… We’d love to hear from you. What achievements as an innovator are you most proud of? Please drop us a note and let us know, and we’ll publish them on the blog and feature them in the newsletter.
This February, Xinova is working with governments and public institutions to engineer the infrastructure for smart cities of the future. We are seeking innovators and companies with specific expertise in data collection and analysis to update and improve municipal functions such as police, utilities, and social services.
This February, we are proud to announce Arcnet, the world’s first capital market for ideas. As GeekWire reported, innovation is global and distributed, and yet funding continues to fail because investment vehicles’ scope has been too narrow. As IAM magazine noted, Arcnet promises to change that, opening a new asset class where investors can accelerate R&D and innovation.
Xinova is honored to be named one of “Seattle’s Best Places to Work” by Built In Seattle. This past year we expanded to new markets internationally, built a more robust and improved network platform, doubled our company size with a diverse mix of talented teammates, and developed an amazing culture!
