Yongsung is the former president and Chief Executive Officer of Doosan Infracore, a 9 billion dollar construction equipment company operating in the US, Europe, China, and other major countries. Serving as CEO from 2008 to 2015, he led the Bobcat acquisition and successfully transformed the company into one of the major global construction equipment companies. The Bobcat acquisition is recorded as the largest overseas deal in Korean business history. From 2001 to 2006, he was a Chief Strategy Officer of the Doosan Group in charge of long range planning. During this period, as a founding CEO, he also led and grew the venture capital NEOPLUX.
Prior to his career at Doosan, Yongsung was one of the founding members of McKinsey Company Seoul Office and became the first Korean partner at McKinsey. During his consulting career, he was engaged in diverse projects, such as restructuring of conglomerates, marketing strategy, and organizational alignment. His consulting areas included the government sector, Financial Supervisory Board, and the Blue House.
Yongsung has an MBA from Wharton School, as well as an MS in Accounting and a BA in International Economics, both from Seoul National University.
He has served as an outside director on the board of EAGON for the last 12 years. He also serves as a Chairman of McKinsey Alumni in Korea.
