Matt Ferguson, PhD
Vice President of Innovation Services
Matt currently serves as VP of Innovation Services at Xinova, where his team creates opportunities for Xinova’s global network of innovators to deliver valuable solutions to our customers. Across a range of industries from materials to food and beverages, Matt leverages a strong technical background and commercial focus to understand customer’s challenges and align our technology sourcing and development efforts to address them.
Prior to Xinova, Matt co-founded medical imaging startup LodeSpin Labs to develop next-generation cardiac diagnostic imaging. After leading spinout from the University of Washington, Matt served as CEO, helping to secure $1.5MM in research funding and managing the company’s global research programs.
Matt earned a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering and a Certificate in Technical Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington, where he was also VP of Membership for the Science and Engineering Business Association, a student-led group connecting engineering students to the business community. Prior to UW, Matt earned a B.A. in Physics from Pomona College.
