Jason currently serves as an Innovation and Commercialization Development Director at Xinova, where he works with global innovators and manages the solutions from review stage to initial concept development. With 10+ year of industrial experience, Jason also interacts with clients from a range of industries to understand their technical or business challenges, and develop sourcing plans to address them.
Before Xinova, Jason was deeply involved in the renewably energy industry for 10+ years, particularly in solar and energy storage. Jason started his career as senior device/process engineer at Applied Materials, where he leveraged technical expertise to develop PV equipment, which enables high volume production of high efficiency and low-cost solar cells. At SunEdison, Jason served as a technical lead and provided cross-functional leadership between R&D, Operations, and Product Management. During his journey, he had established and managed a couple metrology laboratories for PV applications, which allow multi projects in R&D and failure analysis. Jason also holds an affiliate position in electrical engineering department at the University of Washington, where he bridges cooperation between industry and academic community to explore advanced PV technology.
Jason earned his PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Washington. Prior to UW, Jason earned B.S. in power mechanical engineering at the National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan.
